Yes, it's amazing how opinions of PT and Avid have changed in recent years. What you've described is what I'm hearing/seeing, too. The ship is sinking.

I'm happy so far on PT 10, Reaper and Sibelius.

However Cubase looks better all the time!

I just bought Harrison Mixbus for $39, at that price I couldn't resist.

Unfortunately there is no Midi!

I'm staying with PT 11 until December when I decide if I want to stay with PT 11 forever or with Avid. I'm on TWO Macs, one being a great hackintosh and the other is a MacBook Pro. If Sonar was made for OS X I would be switching to it but since its not then I will go with PT11 or Logic.

I worked in a MS Windows server environment for a long time and to be honest I cannot stand MS, they used users into buying broken OS clients. So all I use now is OS X for me since I am retired.

It's going to take a lot to get me to make the move to 12.

Currently 11HD is working very well for me in particular, stability. I haven't had one single crash or problem with it since I got it. I largely put that down to the computer components & their configuration I chose to use with PT.

I have a wry smile about comments made that 12 is somehow 'faster'. From the time I boot my computer to literally working in an open 11HD session (and a relatively large one) is about 30 seconds. It runs as smooth as silk, notwithstanding the inherent bugs in 11.

IMHO for most of those who are already on PT11, money would be far better spent upgrading their computer rather than Software....at least at this stage.

Like others, I'm waiting to see what the PT11 HD upgrade policy will be but it'll have to be very good to interest me in the slightest, coupled with some REAL gains (not just a promise) on offer within the software.

For a while now I have been moving between Sonar, logic, Reason and Protools. My plan now is to let each one decide if it needs me. Let them kill off themselves. I am capable of using all of them and can settle on anyone without a fuss. The direction things are heading will help me decide.

Now Honestly, I was so happy Working in Logic Pro X following my problems with PT11 ... and the LPX Library is really something not to be missed ... but now that PT12 is out and I had the chance to test it .... I am happy to be back using Pro Tools 12 but miss LPX Library of sounds ...
