Mbox acting weird

When I turn my Dual 2.3 powermac (Tiger) on all the lights in my Mbox lits up and stays on until I unplug the Mbox. I plug it in and connect in Digi CoreAudio Manager and then it works fine. I mere puzzled with the opening act is this normal procedure for mac and Mbox?
I have updated and so on.
I hope somebody can enlightend me about this
