When was the last time you tried it? I had the same notion then a couple of support updates ago (years) and this is the first time I have had an issue.

Both physical and virtual solutions have their pit falls and we could split hairs about it all day long. However, you have to understand these are different solutions for different use cases and neither is wrong.

Thanks for this information. I guess iLok has to go through this. For my part, this increases my distrust of any network system.

Unfortunately, these days a lot of companies are using cloud storage from Google, Microsoft, Amazon, you name it. Each of those companies have an occasional global outage. Most of the outages are short-lived but it's where we are in technology today.

In these cases, companies like iLok should allow for 24 hours of unconnected use. That would be pragmatic. I don't know if it's possible, but it should be. Customers could work for the duration of the outages.

See if you can find a feedback page at the iLok website and mention that. Sounds like a good idea.
