mbox live recording
Hello,
I have to record both a Fender Rhodes Pianist and a Cellist seperately at different locations and wondered if anyone could give me some tips. The location will be a quiet room. I have a room mic and am planning to buy an SM57. |

Re: mbox live recording
I think you would get better results with a large condenser mic. If budget is tight, Studio Projects C-1 is a great value. Just get in about a foot from the speaker for the Rhodes and maybe a foot away from the cello and looking at the center of the instrument. GO higher looking down to lessen the sound of the bow. I generally do a single cello with the mic on a short stand. A 57 would be okay for the RHodes, but a cello really wants a better mic(as do most acoustic instruments).
