Sync Timecode in Carbon with Akai

I’m just getting back to recording after taking years off. I have an Akai MPC Live and wish to use the 6 1/4 outputs for recording tracks into Carbon. We used to use the MIDI port to slave the Akai and allow Protools to trigger the playback. Since Carbon does no have MIDI ports, what will I need to accomplish this process? My understanding, using 1/4 outputs into carbon’s preamps vs. exporting stems adds warmth.
