Default Consoles compatible with Pro Tools on Mac

I thought about posting this in the consoles section, but since I've had so much difficulty with finding a console that's recognized by Pro Tools on a Mac, I figured it would be best to post here. I'm not looking for anything too fancy. I just need a console with about eight channels or so that Pro Tools on Mac will recognize.

I bought a Behringer, but it looks as if they only have drivers for PCs, which doesn't do me any good. Is there a relatively inexpensive console (say, under $500) that you guys would recommend?

Question Re: Consoles compatible with Pro Tools on Mac

Do you mean control surface? Any control surface that has HUI protocol will work with Pro Tools.

Command8, CM Labs Motor Mix, come to mind.

Behringer BFC2000 in HUI mode works fine with PT10 on Mac. That is, until it craps out. You get what you pay for with Behringer, cheap cheap cheap.

Or a bargain used Pro Control or Command-8 knowing it might not work with future ProTools versions.

Default Re: Consoles compatible with Pro Tools on Mac

I have a few questions about this:

Will a Command|8 console work with Pro Tools LE 8.0.1 on an iMac? Will the purchase of the Command|8 come with a Pro Tools upgrade?

I presently have an mbox 2. Can I discard it if I get the Command|8 or do I have to hang onto it?

Thanks!

If you're talking about the BCF2000, I'm pretty sure I've used it on Mac and with Pro Tools. It doesn't integrate well though.

Maybe you can find a used Avid/Euphonix Artist controller at a decent price.

Good luck.
