No more VI rentals & Strike, Velvet not available?

Went to Digidesign's web store to look at renting one or two Digi VIs before buying - mainly Velvet and possibly Strike (not sure if Strike was available as a rental).

Well, now when clicking on the 'store' link, you're directed to the new Avid store. Looks great until you get under the hood. At first it seems pricing has changed, but it hasn't. Still very expensive. This may be my ignorance but I don't get why DigiTranslator 2.0 is the same price for ALL of Logic Studio. Hmmm....

Point here is that Strke, Velvet and all the AIR VIs are not available for purchase or rental through the new Avid store. What's up? Any ideas?

Yeah...they were. At least that's my recollection on the rentals. They definitely were in the Digi store for purchase.

Yeah I know for purchase but I didn't think/know the VI's were available for rentals though... But what do I know

Yeah...I don't know much either hence my post. But clearly there is lots going on with Avid and their properties. I've heard so many rumors I've decided to ignore them as its too confusing.

However, it is questionable why products that still show as part of the Digi VI lineup aren't available for purchase through their store. When you type 'strike' or 'velvet' in their search field, you get the option to purchase two videos.

Anyway, if any folks know what's up with those VI's please post info. I'm considering just staying with Logic studio and returning the 11R.

Talked with Digi Customer Service, he says the rentals will be available soon and the purchase of AIR VIs directly from Avid/Digi store will be back. No idea when since the new store was just ported over.

Anyway...that's that.

What I seem to remember is that Strike and Structure were not available as rentals as the required content waa to large to download.
