Default Pulling an Audio Region Into A Session

New user here. Last night I encountered a new problem: After I imported an audio file into the Region List, I could not click on and move the audio file from the region list on to a track. The file in the region list lacked the little icon nearest to the left of the file name. I can pull all other files into the region list. And all old files in the region list have both icons to the left of the file name. Also, when I imported the audio file directly to a track, rather than into the region list, I could move the file within the track, but not track to track. I must be do something wrong. Any answers as to what mistake I am making? Thanks.

Matt

How did you import it? Using what method? From what source did you import it? Mono or Stereo file?

Again, mono or stereo file? Were you trying to move it to the same kind of track? (mono/stereo)

Your question helped me find my own answer - mono audio file/stereo tracks don't mix. Thanks.
