DIGI001 and \"modern\" motherboards (required PCI version)
Hi Everyone,
I intend to build up a brand new PC to take advantage of dual-core processing (Intel E 6600 2,4Ghz). My problem is that I still want to use my elderly Digi001, which is a 5V PCI card, and I’m not sure that it will be compatible with « modern » motherboards(post 2002) which only support 3,3 V devices(PCI version 2.3 or 3.0). Although the PCI connectors on such cards should physically accept the Digi001, it still may not work. The two motherboards on my list are the Asus P5B-Plus(which apparently runs PCI 2.2 and so should be OK) or the Intel DP 965 LT . I didn’t find any references to the required PCI version for the Digi001 on Digi’s web site archive pages, so if anyone of you guys have updated his PC and still succesfully uses his old 001 on the new machine, please let me know about your motherboard brand and model… Thanks in advance, Vince. |

Re: DIGI001 and \"modern\" motherboards (required PCI version)
your problem is digi 001 supports up to pt 6.4 but only pt 7.0 supports multicore
seems you are looking at an upgrade for not only your pc but also for a pt le 7 copadible device say a 003 or mbox2 family... truth hurts your pocket but not preformance the core family (duo or quad) are great for pt preformance i would go with the ASUS P5K as the P35 chipset delivers better memory preformance
