Default Saving i/o settings on sessions

Hi all,
I've recently recieved projects from another studio and when firing up the sessions the i/o's from the studio are made inactive...(obviously)
The problem is I want to change the i/o's to my default setup but it doesnt seem to be working.Everytime I start a session the window pops up 'Some bus paths were made inactive...blah blah' ......Not the end of the world but pretty annoying. Is it possible to save my i/o setup to these sessions so I dont have to witness that pop everytime I fire up?
It will let me change the i/o via settings but once saved and booted up again it goes back to the other studio's setup.

Cheers!!
