You might want to use TL Intune. It's also free with PT9 and much more accurate and versatile. And looks way cooler.

Here is my only beef with Pro Tools, I simply am having a hard time locating where the items are in the menus is stuff. Is there a cheat sheet anywhere? Where do I find the TL Tune

Pro Tools places the BF tuner in the "unused plugins" folder. Just drag it from that folder to the plug ins folder and it will be there when you start PT.

The only problem with the BF Essential Tuner is that there is a known (and never addressed) bug on Windows that has the tuner off by 10 cents or so.

Just for giggles, I just played with TL Intune and found it to be inaccurate on sine square and triangle waveforms. The only one it read accurately was sawtooth.

And it will stay in the Unused folder because playing in tune is rule one in my house. Thanks for everything.

TL Intune is found in the "Other" section of the plugin drop down menu.

Keep in mind it will probably only show up on mono tracks, for obvious reasons.

As for the sine wave, square wave, etc., I don't even know what that stuff is for. I just leave it on "no tone" and insert it on my guitar tracks (whether mic or DI) and I tune the guitars (and bass) to it and it seems to sound pretty good to me.

Those settings are for having TL Intune play a tone. Select sine and click on a note and TL Intune will play a sine wave at that note.

What I should have been clearer about was that I was using the signal generator before TL Intune to generate a 440 tone. The only tone from the signal generator that TL Intune would lock to and read accurately was the sawtooth. I found that odd since the BF Tuner would read them all accurately, but low ten cents.

In the event I want to look at unused plug ins where would I find them. When I installed Pro Tools I installed under the C drive and not under Program Files(86) at the recommendation of a friend.
