Please Help: Error occured while trying to load the controller personality "EUCON".

Ok, what am I doing wrong here...? Have just spent 8 hours on this... I've uninstalled/reinstalled both Pro Tools and EUCON multiple times...

I'm getting "Error occured while trying to load the controller personality "EUCON". " as well as "Error occured while trying to load the controller personality "003". "

In Peripherals > Ethernet Controllers, selecting EUCON and then OK, generates error...

Very, very frustrated; is this a network problem? Any help appreciated.

I see uninstalling FL Studio helped some, trying that now...

When you uninstall EUCON, are you using the Installer and selecting remove all Apps and remove all prefs?

No, I don't think so; just from within Windows Programs and Features list. I'll give that a try.

However, I have uninstalled, and then reinstalled, the Avid 003 Driver, Pro Tools, and EUCON, numerous times now. Currently, only the Avid 003 driver, and Pro Tools are installed... and at this point, the computer is not seeing the 003 at all, which doesn't bode well...

So — the 003 (console) is not being seen at all by the computer... the Host 1394 light shows no activity; not showing in Windows audio devices.

Getting some different cables today to try on a machine that only has the 4-pin 1394 connector... but, still wondering: is it still possible that there is a software reason that the Host 1394 LED won't light on the 003 console? Or is the chip likely fried?

You are using a Digi 003 with PT21.12? I thought that thing hasn't been supported since PT11. (something like 7 or 8 years ago)

Finally was able to test on another machine, a laptop, but with exactly the same Windows and PT software specs as in the first post, and the 003 console works perfectly.

So I've ordered the Startech 3 Port 1394 PCIe PEX1394B3 card to replace the SIIG FireWire 2-Port PCIe NN-E20012-S2... (which tested successfully with other FW devices to rule out; but nevertheless, hopefully replacing it solves the issue).

So after days of troubleshooting and dozens of uninstalls / reinstalls of Pro Tools, Avid 003 (Console) Driver 9.0.6 (x64), EUCON Workstation Unified, and new FW card (which wasn't the problem)...

...I completely reinstalled Windows — and everything, finally, works perfectly again.

(Of course all the applications, plugins, etc. have to be reinstalled.)

My question is, where are the error messages I was getting:

Error occurred while trying to load the controller personality "EUCON"
Error occurred while trying to load the controller personality "003"

coming from? And would there have been an easier way to solve them?
