Default Annoying playhead bugs in 8.0

Options/Edit Window Scrolling keeps resetting itself to "No Scrolling" when I open a different session or close and re-open PT.

Many times when I open a session, the playhead doesn't move at all. I hear sound, but I can't tell where in the timeline I'm at. It just stays where I started playing from. Changing "Timeline Insertion follows Playback" has no effect.

Any fixes for this?
