Default someone please help me!!

hi all, i recently got an m powered set up. i use an m audio 1814 fire wire and desktop has an asus av8 motherboard, an amd 3.8 x2 chip, 1.5 of ram,120 and 250 gig hard drive. my problem is that i have recorded at 92 khz and have recorded about 16 audio tracks, but my processor at points seems to go through the roof on cpu usage. this causes the sound to break down into white noise.some times it does it when i use a few plugins and even times when i dont.i followed the installation guide to the last letter. is my computer up to spec to record up to 32 tracks at 96 khz with plug ins? thanks darren
