Default Help ! Bringing Down Volume on all Tracks with Automation

I have a completed mix that is to hot and want to bring the overall volume down on the master. The mix is now going to mastered and there is alot
of automation done to the mix.

What is the best way to bring down the volume of on all the tracks along with all the automation to get the level I need for mastering?

Thanks
Tom

First of all you don't want to bring down "all tracks"
You want to exclude effects returns (as all/most fx sends are post fade)

also, if you have instruments bussed to an aux track (group master) you would only want to bring down the level of the group master, NOT the individual tracks as well.

I would think about this very carefully, then select all the tracks you want to change the level on and create an edit group.

Go to the edit page with this group selected and viewing volume automation on all the tracks, triple click to select the whole track

Holding down Apple key (for fine adjustment) with the trimmer tool pull down the levels (It would be a good idea to know exactly how much you need to bring the level down so you can do it in one shot).

Check the extremities of the selection to make sure the automation is not ramping when it shouldn't.

That should do it
create a new session first of course so you can go back if you need to.

good luck
hope that helps
