Default PT8 and VST instruments problem

Friends I have a unique problem concerning PT8 using VST streaming sounds. I am using a dual MAC PRO intel under Leopard 5.5. PT8 does work when I use Omnisphere or the "PLAY" sound engine in my sessions. Currently I have all of my sounds samples on a separate internal drive while my PT8 sessions reside on Glyph fire wire. Here is the problem... When I quit PT8, the MAC will not let me disconnect my fire wire drives! When I try, it gives me a dialogue box saying that the drives are in use. This only happens when I use the VST instruments. I must reboot the machine and then the MAC lets me eject the drives. Has anybody experienced this problem??

Mike
