Default Universal Audio goes native.

Universal Audio goes native.

No mention of subscription cost monthly or annually. Apparently, those with plugins already will get perpetual licenses for the Native versions.

Yes and it behave really good native . Very low latency and pretty friendly to the CPU , at least the ones already native. I hope the entire float become native soon. A pretty sexy thing is that you can use them both in a session, DSP and Native.

I jumped on it almost immediately and it's superb so far. Operates smoothly, and as mentioned latency is very low (I think I noticed 56 samples for the LA2a which is impressive).

It's $19.99/month or $149/year.

Nice. I own 94 plugins already. So I'll get those Native Free, which will be nice along side the 16 DSP chips I have.

Please let us know if you run across one that isn't working as it should.

Is there only some that are native? I was under the impression the whole library was native.
Or is it a work in progress?

Looks like there are only 9 plugins native ATM not including the instruments.

I guess if you aren't a DSP user, 149 a year isn't that bad, but it would kind of depend on their turn around for the Native's for those who have DSP.

You said you are getting like 56ms on latency in the plugins?

56 samples (just over 1ms), which is negligible.

How long till they sell native versions to us mortals? I'd buy some but I certainly will not be subscribing!

There's a sort of hack there, but it requires buying some UAD-2 hardware. Anything, the cheapest you can find second hand. Then you can buy any regular powered plugin, and just install the native version which is a permanent dongle or cloud iLok license. (Obvs it's just a subset of plugins for now).

Also to point out - for the moment UADx is Mac-only, Windows coming later in the year. And the regular powered plugins are VST2 only, while UADx are VST3 only. Funny old times.
