Default Where would you put your MONEY???

Hi all, preparing to set up a b room considering either:

option 1:

Focusrite front end
Apogge Rosetta 800 (A/D) Lightpipe out to
002 (lightpipe in and out)
Command 8 surface control
ApoggeeRosetta 800 (Lightpipe)
Summing Mixer (Dangerous 2 bus)
Masterlink

or

option 2:
A HD rig.

thanks in advance for thoughts, comments, considerations.
John

Option 1 is probably cheaper but if you can swing it go for the HD. I have never used an HD system but I've seen it in action. You will still need whatever i/o you can afford and a control surface. I say skip the le and get an ICON. That coming from someone who can barely use his le system.

Odd that no one has asked what the system will be required to do!

You can do a lot of damage with an 002 system if you can put up with the 32 track limitation.

If a lot of heavy mixing is to be done, HD would be better because of the advanced automation features in the non-crippled PT software that comes with it.

Otherwise, if your B room is doing nothing but VOs, or vocal overdubs, or synth parts, or the like, it would be insane to invests that much in HD when one can do all of that with 002.

The "B" room will inevitabley hit a brick wall one day, and be asked to do something that only the "A" room can do, and then you will kick yourself for not having the upgrade. If you're big enough to have a "B" room then I think you're big enough for at least an HD1 then add cards as neccessary.
