ProTools 8.0 won't function on a brand new Mac
Friends,
I really, really need your help! I just bought a brand new Mac: Mac OS X --- Version 10.5.6 Processor 2.93 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon 6 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 I have numerous internal terabyte drives, in addition to my system drive (I know they say NOT to save ProTools files on the system drive). (1) I open up my ProTools LE 8.0, and I try to play back a simple little .wav (2) It says, "ERROR --- CPU is holding back USB audio. Remove some plug-ins, delete some tracks, or increase the 'H/W Buffer Size' in the Playback Engine dialog. (-9136)" (3) I don't understand this at all. The reason I bought this super-powerful Mac was to AVOID these type of issues! (4) Just like always, I go into the Playback Engine and try every possible combination allowed by the Playback Engine. (5) The same error continues to happen. (6) I restart my computer. Same errors, no matter the configuration of the Playback Engine. (7) I try saving files on various different drives, including my GLYPH. Same errors. (8) Remember: there is only ONE TRACK !!! No plugins whatsoever. Can anyone help me? THANKS SO MUCH IF YOU CAN HELP!!! [email protected] |

Have you upgraded to Snow Leo compatible version of PT?

I've moved this to the correct forum. And, as Mundoz asks - which LE hardware are you using...? |

Re: ProTools 8.0 won't function on brand new Mac
I would post this in the LE/Mac forum and also include the interface you're running as well as the type of external hard drive.

Re: ProTools 8.0 won't function on brand new Mac
How many processors are dedicated to Pro Tools?
What is the sample size and bit rate of the session? Was the recording imported or made on this same system?

Re: ProTools 8.0 won't function on brand new Mac
Hello, BlueThursday.
Not sure how many processors are dedicated to ProTools or how to affect this. Can you help? With regard to the other question, ProTools won't play ANY .wav file at all, no matter what sample size or bit rate. THANKS if you can help! |
