Re: hdx aaxdsp is dying

then on top of that you finally refer my case to "specialist" h=whi then writes me and says: "This is Nestor from Avid Audio Technical Support. We apologize for the inconvenience. We do not have list of all available AAX-DSP plugins since there are a lot of third party plug ins developer in the market and they are continuously updating and changing their products. The only plug ins finder that we can provide for the customer is the link below. https://shop.avid.com/?cclcl=en_US#s...ats=AAX+DSP+64 Also contacting the re-sellers might give you more information regarding AAX-DSP plug ins available from their stores since they are not limited to Avid products." and the link that they provided was the exact same link I had been looking at before...then what am I suppose to think? the links that you guys provided was exactly what i was looking for...yes i am pissed off that i am paying for support and asked a very simple question that could not get resolved until I posted here and at gearslutz...especially when i about about to drop $$$$ and what i am getting from avid is discouraging to say the least. |

but the OP's point stands don't you think? That the actual company itself is now for 2 months (or is it even more?) not providing a way to find a list of dsp plugins? It's like they don't care.. why don't avid even link to say "for those wanting a list of all dsp plugins as our plug in finder is under construction, please visit so and so .com"

Re: hdx aaxdsp is dying
AAX DSP vs AAX Native from the database is 174 to 979 which pretty much sums it up.

Re: hdx aaxdsp is dying
I have an HDX3 system. I fully expect if the new CEO does his job my HDX3 will be worthless.

It will be interesting to see what happens. I guess there will always be some form of AAX DSP though for the S6L?

Re: hdx aaxdsp is dying
The beautiful thing of the Hybrid engine is that you will only need AAX DSP plugs when you want low latency. So only buy AAX DSP for your tracking plugs.
I wish Avid did this 5 years ago. I have been working in a "hybrid" mode for years. I use a Neve console for no latency tracking. Just curious how many more years we are going to get out of the HDX cards? The Texas Instrument DSP chips are of the 2006 era. Anyway... happy mixing. Eric Slaughter |
