I guess the real question is if the seller had bought it and did not transfer ownership, can he still sign the ownership over to me?

If he bought it off of someone else used, and did not get a transfer of ownership, then your gonna have to track down the original buyer. Lets pray thats not the case lol.

Lol dang that's def no good. NO ONE on eBay had ownership. This is making me quite depressed

Contacted Avid about the transfer of ownership stuff this is their response-

Yes, a seller can sign the Transfer of Ownership form even if they did not have a form when they purchased the unit. The most important part of the form is the hardware unit information and the new owners personal information. Sometimes customers can't get a hold of the previous owner and the form is submitted with just the new owners information; which is acceptable.
