Default Re: How To Play VST Sounds On Pro Tools Keyboard?

Either way, AM, you really should have a seperate drive for your audio. I didnt have the money to get a second hard drive at first and I managed to get by, but now I have 3, and things run a lot smoother. Besides, hard drives are coming down in cost. You can get more bang for the buck that you could 2 years ago.
And also, I have a question that spkr can probably answer. Do you only put the audio files on a seperate drive or do you put everything involved with that song (Session File, Virtual Instrument files, audio, etc..) in one folder on the 2nd drive? I am trying to get better organized with my recordings. Thanks

You would create the session file on the separate hard drive. Anything that you would normally save with the session (audio, plug-in settings) would be saved in that same location.

But please, whatever you do, don't ever store important data inside the "Digidesign Databases" folders. Those are temporary folders created by the program (and most times deleted when updating the software). There have been people known to do this, hence my warning.
