Default Rec In/Out points independent from play/loop points like DP has?

Is there a way in PT to have Record in out points that are different from play loop points so one can loop record with pre/post roll for every play loop and only recording during part of the total playback loop duration.
Preroll/postroll seems to stop once the loop is repeating- leaving one without a lead in during loop recording.
Digital Performer has seperate record in/out points-
maybe they are hidden somewhere in PT?

If so, please explain how to have the points where recording takes place inside the play loop be different from the play loop points.
A way to get preroll to function on each playback of the loop?
or?

Thanks.
