Newbie questions:mix bounce,grid value,staff view

I am a new digi001/ptools LE win user.

I am having two main problems.
1. After I bounce my stereo mixdown track to a .wav file my media player will not play it. It shows an error that it can't play a streaming wav. I just want to mixdown to a playable wav or mp3. Am I doing something wrong?

2. I am trying to pencil insert 1/8th midi notes. The help section says to change the grid value from 1/4 to 1/8 and shows a pop up menu to do this. I can't find that pop up menu anywhere. The graphic in the help section shows a little arrow to click that is not on my ptools screen.

Also, is there a music staff view similiar to that of Cakewalk for midi editing?

you must have your screen resolution on 1024x768 to see that the grid value box

digidesign did something wrong with that asect of the program
