Converted to new Intel MAC PRO, Protools crashes
I just upgraded from a G5 MAC to a new 3.0GHZ Intel Mac Pro. I installed Protools LE Version 7 (thats the disc that I have) When I start Protools it crashes the Mac. I went to download updates for LE 7 or 7.1 and there is no listing for the Intel Mac Pro's.
Any thoughts? I am running Protools through a Digi 002. Thanks, Todd |

Re: Converted to new Intel MAC PRO, Protools crashes
If I'm not mistaken you would have to be at 7.1.1 minimum for the new Intel Mac Pro. You should just upgrade to 7.3 though.

Re: Converted to new Intel MAC PRO, Protools crashes
This will answer your questions. I did a search of "7.1.1 download".
http://www.digidesign.com/index.cfm?...0&itemid=23693 1) If you have previously installed another version of Pro Tools (6.x-7.1) on your system you will need to do a "Clean" uninstall of that version of Pro Tools. You can't use the PPC version of PT. Also, all your plugs will need to be changed to the Intel versions.

Thanks for the info guys. I loaded 7.1.1 and it works. Now I found out that my Waves plugins don't work under MAC OS10.4.9
Thanks again for your help Todd |

Yes, I saw that on the Waves web site. Haven't seen a predicted solution. I'll stay at 10.4.8

Re: Converted to new Intel MAC PRO, Protools crashes
Park,
I was able to load up and use my Waves Gold bundle. I tried some of the plugs and they worked. The Mac just shipped to me new last week with 10.4.9. I would hate to have to downgrade, so I sent a message to Waves, see what happens. Todd |
