Default Hard Drives won\'t automount

Installed a new 36gig IBM as three partitions of 11+gigs each. I'm running a 9600-350 with adaptec
2940UW and FWB's latest HDT for drivers. The older drive ini the system mounts on bootup but the new drive doesn't. I have to go into HDT and mount them manually each time I boot up, even though (X)automount is checked in FWB. Could there be a problem in the Adaptec controller that's allowing the other drive to mount but not this one? I'm puzzled and hope it's just something stupid I did. Any ideas of what to check? Thanks!

Steve...it's a problem with the IBM drives. I've got two of them and have the exact same problem. I've had mine for over a year and from what I can tell there's no resolve. The first time you boot you must manually load them. After that they'll come up fine even if you recycle the machine. I believe it has something to do with the SCSI controller in the IBM drives. On the plus side, I've never had a single problem with either of the two 36GB IBMs in over a year.

Try this:
(1) Try turning on Harddrives after you turn on cpu.....during the the mac happy face.
(2) Check to see if you have an auto spin/mount jumper on drive (usually on bottom), if not then apply one.
Hope this helps!!

OH YEAH, get rid of those dreadful FWB drivers and update your drive w/ apple drivers or you'll regret it later!!

Hey guys...
I believe if you visit the IBM website (and wade through several pages), you'll find info on the internal dip switches that can be configured to auto boot with the system. Good luck!
