Metadata in Pro tools

Hi-
I collect sounds using my edirol r09. I import my flies into pro tools, edit them and then they eventually appear in my soundminer DB. What I want to know is: Is there a way IN PRO TOOLS to embed metadata, so I can export my files and they'll show up in soundminer with the description, etc. I know there is a pluin called meta plug ?? That works with netmix, but will it work with soundminer (a major drawback is that its almost $500)

Any easier way to embed metadata in pro tools or even outside of it ????

You can edit metadata in workspace but we use a piece of software called meta edit which is made by soundminer. It works great. We use it to extract the slate and take number and paste it into the filename on Deva and PD6 location recordings
