can't find windows installer on the disk...

so here i am, finally at the weekend where i can install my fresh copy of m-powered pro-tools 8!

armed with a cup of tea and a pain-au-chocolate i excitedly insert the installation disk into my PC.......

.........hmmm.... where's the exe. file....

....hmmm.......(with a slightly more confused tone)


...hmmmm....(with more worry).....


all i can find on the disk are the mac files - has anyone experienced this?

i will check the disk later on another PC in case my drive is up the swany..

is there any way to download it?

i tried to register my purchase but it said the serial was already registered...so im guessing that i tried to register in the wrong place...

Where did you get your Pro Tools? Was it a sealed package? All is not well.

hey Tom,

Yeah i bought it from a dealer in the UK so no problems with returning but they don't have any in stock and i had to wait weeks for this copy...

i plan to try the disk in another pc later today... very odd

just to end the thread in case it happens to someone else...

... the disk was fine in another pc (with vista Im on xp).....


...so i got the free version of Isobuster to make an image file of the disk and there were all the files i was missing!

i then extracted what i needed and all is fine.

very odd.
