Default Damn 9094 interupt errors...help!!

I'll set my hardware buffer on 128 or 256 and I keep getting " your operating system held off interupts for far too long, if this happens, try increasing your H/W buffer size.

Well I'm already at 256, and I usuually have to send it to 1024 to get it to play through. My system performance shows plenty of headroom...

I'm working on all the tweaks I read about, but I'm frustrated and I needed to post this....

working on ...new hardware config, swapping ide controllers, looking for programs in the background, nothing doing so far....

what gives?

why is this happening and what else can I do.

Abit kt7a w/athalon 1.4

2 drives, both 7200 (one with os and pt, other just audio)

Latest Busmaster IDE driver from my abit,

352 meggs ram

133 buss speed.

I've tried everything.....

so, which "standard Microsoft IDE driver" do you guys mean?

I'be got like 4 in my list.

Standard Bus Mastering Ide
Standard dual PCI IDE
Standard IDE/ESDI

and when I try to change I compatability mode error and a big nasty blue screen !! Then I have to deal with the NO IDE tag in my reg. that I have to browse though and delete. (no fun)

I've finaly got one of them to work and it only recognized one ide channel.... even though it was set on "enable both channels"

AHHHHHHHHH

I hat this crap...

HELP!!

I had this problem recently, and it happens that I have two drives installed.

The first one, (system) was in DMA mode, but the other would only run in PIO mode for some reason. I tried recording to the system drive instead, and poof!! it worked. Odd, but it sucks too. I guess I need another HD....
Problbably doesn't help, but that's all I could find too!

The interrupt errors are simply a fact of Pro Tools life. I'm not even surprised any more and have stopped trying to figure out what causes them - we shouldn't have to be technicians to get home systems working.

I'm hoping the errors won't happen on my Mac at home - I intend to buy an MBox soon. If they do, it'll be time to investigate other, less tempermental options - DP, etc.

make sure you have lba mode enabled in your bios. Don't bother with the other stuff it won't help. I had the same problem all this week since I installed 6.1 . I tried every tweak under the sun and none of them worked except the last thing I did was enable lba mode and now everything is fine. I was getting 9093 and 9094 errors with no tracks at all and a 1024 buffer size. I could barely even push play. Let me know if you got this option ,if not let me know what other stuff you changed. I understand your frustration.

No, they're not a fact of Pro Tools life. They don't happen on either of my two systems.

Nobody in this thread has mentioned which Digi system, which PTLE version, or which Windows version is being used.
