Bus-powered G-Drive: can it run large audio projects?
I've just bought a bus-powered 7200 rpm 500GB G-Tech G-Drive Mini for use with a Macbook Pro, mainly for carrying data around with me, e.g. my I-Tunes library. It's overkill buying a G-Drive you might say, but in my experience G-Drives are rock-solid and totally reliable. (Mine will probably die now I've written that!)
Nevertheless, I wonder if anybody has any experience of using a bus-powered G-Drive Mini to run Logic or Pro Tools projects, streaming samples and audio files. How does it perform compared with a standard mains-powered G-Drive if it's bus-powered? Any information appreciated. Thanks. |

Re: Bus-powered G-Drive: can it run large audio projects?
More interesting as my experience with G-Drives has been pretty poor and I don't recommend them(much prefer the OWC Mercury drives).
