Digidesign 003 Console Windows 7

Hi Dear All
I am new to AVID family
I have recently purchased a used Digidesign 003 Console.
I want to use it for recording purpose.
I use ADOBE AUDITION 3 and SONY VEGAS 11 programmes
My OS is WINDOWS 7 / 32 bit
I have installed a Standalone Driver 'Digidesign_Audio_Drivers_v803_64591'
But my software programmes don't find 003
i get this caution:
"you have seletcted a driver for an ASIO device that is not available"

Since you are on Windows 7, you should download a newer driver version:

I have tried various following drivers available on AVID website:

002_003_Console_v90265_Drivers_70920
Digidesign_Audio_Drivers_v803_64591
Install_Avid_002_and_003_Console_9.0.5

Installation is successful, but when I launch PRO TOOL HD 10.3.2, I get this message "your pro Tools hardware is either not installed or used by another programme"

I also installed digidesign 003 standalone driver, and tried to use it with my other software-Adobe audition 03 but i get this message "you have selected a driver for an ASIO device that is not available"

Start with the "Help us help you...read this before posting" link above on this page and describe clearly what you are doing and what trouble shooting steps you gave tried.

What is the playback engine set to when you tried this in Pro Tools? Hold down "N" when Pro Tools is starting ... What options are shown for playback engine?

How exactly is the 003 connected to the PC, what exact Firewire adapter is in the PC? What standard troubleshooting have you tried? Is the Firewire/1394 LED illuminated on the 003? Did you see/know this 003 worked before you purchased it? Does your Firewire controller in the PC known to work with anything else? Etc. etc... Post a Sisoft Sandra report as asked for in that link above.

This might or might not work, but it is something that I noticed lately that works great when my DAW can't find a piece of hardware.

Try going into your control panel >>system >> device manager

Look for the device that is not being found and see if it is "enabled" if not, then enable it. Otherwise, disable and enable it again.

I can;'t tell you how many times this has fixed problems for me lately, I am using a Digi 002 with 8.05 and an Eleven-Rack.

At some point I have used this to fix a firewire harddrive that commonly turns itself off, my 11R and my Digi002. I am surprised this is not mentioned more often.

I have a feeling the OP is not using Pro Tools software, which, to me, is not an ideal setup(its always been my opinion that Pro Tools and Avid hardware are a good matchup, but Avid hardware and other programs...not so much). Posting a Sandra report is step #1 for getting the best help and advice.

Next, assuming the FW controller IS compatible, then the choice of FW drivers can make or break the function of the 003. There are 3 resident drivers(found by updating the FW driver>and telling it you have the disk, then selecting Let Me Choose from a List). The Legacy driver is recommended, but does NOT work for me. The TI Compliant....driver is the one that works here
