Default Can I ditch my hardware synths/samplers?

Hi,
I currently own a number of modules, namely:-
Roland JV2080
Roland SC880
Proteus 1 plus orchestral
Alesis D4
Akai S3000XL

I don't do alot of Midi stuff so I'm thinking that maybe Reason/Mach 5/ Sample tank would do everything I need.
What 's your opinion?

I know there have been various discussions over capabilities of the above but I just need to do the basics.

That's like me asking you "should I sell my '94 Ford Pickup truck?" without giving details of my vehicular needs, constraints, preferences, and desires.

I’d say get rid of your “94 Ford Pickup truck” no matter what trucking needs you’re in….

Poppy, the list of gear you have won’t worth much on eBay.
My suggestion is keep them all and get all the software gear you’ve mentioned.
See if you’re satisfied and get rid of all your hardware afterwards.
I’m sure you’ll still keep most of them.
Plus all this hardware gear will make your project studio look like a real studio.

Actually, I'd say sell them off now and get the software. They won't command high dollar, but they aren't going to get anymore valuable later. And if for some reason you don't like any of the software samplers out there, the list of things that you have wouldn't be very hard to find again.
