Default Something Strange

Hi Guys

I had a few teething issues when setting up my new Pro Tools set up, glad to say were all up and running now. However something strange has occurred.

The teething issues resulted in me having to re install Pro Tools 12 from the website perhaps 3 or 4 days after the initial install. I noticed (as did one or two others on here) that with the initial download I had Pro Tools 12HD with the extra metering options and the processing meter next to the audio meters, which was a nice surprise.

However the re-install was the standard Pro Tools 12, which to be fair is what I thought I'd ordered.

Did anyone else get the HD version instead of the standard, do they still have it, has Avid realised the mistake or on the second download did I perhaps do something different?

I have to say I ran a full mixing session for the first time yesterday with the new software and in 8 hours of work Pro Tools didn't miss a beat and compared to my older Cubase DAW, Pro Tools is so much better.

If mem. Serves. Ilok "decides" which version boots. So if you have an hd license that version boots and vice versa. Perhaps it was an isolated Ilok event error

It has been reported multiple times in various threads that this happens only the first time you launch Pro Tools after installing it. Some people have also reported that if you fully uninstall it, then reinstall, it happens again the first time you launch it.
