Default Audio processing is conflicting

Just bought the Mbox with ProTools LE. The install went OK but now I'm getting this error (after 2 or 3 seconds) when trying to record:

Audio processing is conflicting with other CPU tasks. If this occurs often, reducing the "H/W Buffer Size" in the Playback Engine Dialog may help prevent the problem. (-9129)

Here's my config:

Iv'e seen this problem when trying to record to the system drive
or a non compliant external hard drive

The external drive should have a Oxford 911 chipset

You can but it's not recommended. You won't get high track counts etc.

When I purchased mine for my 002 & mbox the minimum was 7200rpm and it had to have the Oxford 911 Chip set.
That may have changed so you should check the Compatibility link at the top of this page

The mBox compatibility page (referred to in the Getting Started guide) has this to say on the subject:
Quote:
For desktop models, a separate internal or external dedicated audio hard drive is required for maximum performance and track count (see Hard Drive Minimum Requirements )
The HD Minimum Req. page has all the basic info about hard drives that you will need.

Ok...got everything working. I went out and bought a Western Digital (7200) firewire drive. I have a Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS card which has a firewire port.

At this point I'm very happy with the performance. I still get some messages from time to time but it doesn't hinder me too much to be a problem.

Thanks!
Andy
