Out of that long list I didn't see what OS version you are running.
Slim is right, go to 7.1 or 7.3.1 depending on OS
you need more RAM.

"If you have problems getting ProTools to run, you're more than likely going to have problems getting any other software to work as well."

Oh boy do I not agree with that. ProTools is great, but I don't know too many sound engineers in the LA area that don't have consistent issues. It just seems like something they learn to deal with, as when ProTools works, it works well.

I haven't surveyed a bunch of audio engineers in L.A., but as one myself, I know that on my G5 2.5Ghz, 7.3 runs pretty solidly with an 002r. You definitely need more than 1GB of RAM. The minimum JUST for PT is 768MB. That alone could cause issues because you NEVER want the "minimum".

Make sure you are also using something other than the system drive for your PT sessions.

i have been using since 10/2003 and have never had any major issues. the only complaint i have is that i had the 002 factory "power" issues. which in turn digi design outfoxed me with an over night delivery with the part to fix it. i honestly have seen many people never have any major issues with PT. I have seen more problems with other products. i think that you should read compatibility charts with system specs and start from there. many people get sucker into buying PT from their "local" dealer as an all in one package that will work with any computer, but you really need to ready all documentation before purchasing.

be a smart consumer...check for cs updates as well...

Gotta say 7.3 is the most stable PT i've run for a long long time.

Make the jump....

7.0 was a bit of a pain for me too.

I upgraded to 7.4, got more memory and changed my firewire cable to 12' instead of the 18' (or more, I forget) that I was using and everything works fine now. Thanks all for your suggestions.
