Help me please!
I've posted this in the past, but I didn't get a answer. My question is syncing! I got my MPC as the master and Protools as the slave, and I am sending MTC/MMC, with both protools and the mpc set to 30frames. I insert a blank measure at the beginning of the sequence in the mpc, so that protools will have enough time to lock on. I then put protools online and press play on the mpc. every thing is pretty much ok, but for some reason protools start to record a little to soon. For example the blank measure starts at (001.01.00 and then continues on, mind you protools is suppose to start recording when the mpc reaches 002.01.00, but instead it starts recording at 001.04.80. What do I have to do in protools to compensate for this? I would appreciate if someone would please answer me, and yes I have looked through the manual a thousand times, but for some people, it just takes some one to tell them in "Lamen's terms", to get the picture. Yes I am a newbie to this also, and I am a bit overwelmed, but you all have been through that stage before, so help a brother out.

Re: Help me please!
Hi,
Are you making a selection when you record or just recording online? If you are just recording online Pro Tools will begin recording as soon as it locks to the incoming time code. If you want to start recording precisely at bar 1 thne go to the Setups > Preferences menu, select Record Online at Insert/Selection in the Online Options box. Pro Tools will start to record exactly where you tell it to now. You can use an insert by itself or make a bounded selection. Pro Tools will start and stop recording base on the area you have selected. In hope this clears things up for you. Thanks, Digidesign Tech Support |
