Default What version on accel/core cards to avoid

So thinking about picking up some good deals on these PCI-e cards - they keep dropping in price and once PT11 come out will continue to do so - so having said all that I come to the point

Are there any card rev's that I should avoid ?? Running PT9-(HD on the ilok) and probably will for awhile - Rocking an 2008 8core -harpertown

Any advice or cautionary words appreciated!!!!

The reason why I am asking is that I thought I heard that some revisions of the cards were problematic for versions 9 and 10 on Mac Pros - on certain Mac Pros

It's the other way around. Certain MP models are problematic due to the pci-e configuration. Cards are just fine no matter the revision

Unless I missed something, the problem with early mac pros is that they are unable to update firmware correctly on the the HDX cards. Pretty sure that all mac pros are fine with the older HD accel cards.

Side note: There is a known issue with Rev K PCI-X cards and Magma PE6R4-I expansion chassis on Westmere MacPros that can require a timing reset of the card. This used to be a free repair, but has since become a chargeable service (around $600 w shipping in US) since HDX came out and TDM cards are EOL.
FYI

Very nice thanks for the info - I probably wouldn't go up
Beyond a HD3 - and might as well get the PCI-e cards for the price - trying to get buy with my Focusrite with zero latency DSP cue mix for the rest of this album - but if that boat dont float I will have a go with some of these cards for the next project
