Default Pro tools 8 le buffer size issues (HELP) :(

Hi there, Im running pro tools 8 LE with a digi 003 rack on my macbook ,
I got 2gb memory but protools is just recognizing one, like, I used to change the buffer size when I mix to 2048 but now the higher i can go is 1024,I will appreciate if anybody had experienced this and had answer for this!!!! thanks

Buffer size has no relationship to RAM. The minimum and maximum go according to the chosen sample rate of your session. 44.1 and 48K will top out at 1024. a higher sample rate(88.2 or 96K) should allow for 2048 max.

thanks for your response, but what's pretty weird is that I always work on 24/48 and never had that problem,everytime I upen my plackback engine and change the buffer size it always let me got up to 2048 , now it's just 1024

Thatz on an Mbox that u go that high on those lower Sample rates...

well that;s why Im so confused now, Ive worked with my mbox 2 I was able to go up to 2048 ,and it happened before that it just let me go up to 1024 but then i restarted my computer and then it was fine but now it seems that pro tools is just recognizing 1 of my memorys and just letting me to up to 2048,

dude, like albee already said, the buffer size has absolutely nothing to do with how much ram your computer has. they are unrelated.
