Default Digi 003 with external preamp. How can I check signal in protools instead of recordin

Hi everyone,

I just got a new preamp that I connected to inputs 5 and 6.
When I want to record through the preamp, I can't check the signal inside Pro-Tools, I have to actually record then the signal appears on the track.

Is there a way I can fix this so the signal can be read easily like the mic pres from 1-4??

Huh? As soon as you put an audio track in record-ready, the meter should be showing the signal level(always has for me). Have your meters in PRE-fade mode. Assuming your new preamp outputs a +4 signal, use that switch selection on the back of the 003 for inputs 5&6

Problem was solved. It already was at +4, so I must've done something without realizing it, or maybe it was just a bug inside Pro-Tools.

Thanks

Don't forget, trashing prefs and database files is a good idea for any "odd" behavior of Pro Tools
