Fast Track Pro 1.8.1 driver does not show up and kills PT aggregate

In the about section after installing 1.8.1 it says "driver version not available".
Also the option for the pro tools aggregate goes away. This is all resolved when I roll back to 1.8.0
any help appreciated!
