Wrong length when exported to mp3
This is more of a bug report, but I wanted to see if other people have the same problem.
I'm using PT 10.3.8 on OS X 10.7.5 and this is the only version I noticed this issue so far. I bounced a session (24bit/44.1k) from 0:00:00 to 0:59:40, as it was for a radio broadcast and it had to be in exact length. Since the radio station wanted it in MP3 format, I bounced it to MP3. The resulting MP3, however, is shown as 59:31 in length when played on Windows Media Player. When I open the exact same file on a Mac, (Quicktime, iTunes, VLC) it is 59:40. On Windows, VLC and PotPlayer shows the correct length (59:40) but then opened in WMP the file is 59:31. I bounced the session again in WAV (16/44.1) and converted to MP# with iTunes and now it is in correct length in all of the test platforms mentioned above. I can't be sure if the problem is in Pro Tools or WMP. Are there other people who have had the same problem when bouncing to MP3 in PT? Any idea on the cause and/or solution to the issue? I did find the workaround (use iTunes) but it's an extra step... Does PT 11 have the same problem? |
