How to fix 24 bit Mix Down??
Hi,
I have a perfect mix down for my session, but there is 1 problem. All the audio files were recorded at 24bit instead of 16bit. I used the Dither POWr plug-in on my Master Track at 16bit and after I bounce to disk the song is way too low. How do I fix this problem? |

Re: How to fix 24 bit Mix Down??
bit depth has less to do with the "level" than you think it does.
Bounce down to 24 bit wav and import back into a Pro Tools session. Does it have the same level? Bounce down to 16 bit wav and import back into a Pro Tools session. Does it have the same level? I think what you are looking to do is to master your final track, so that the levels would match that of a commercially produced CD, which is a subject all it's own; an art and a science. Lots of articles and instruction on the matter over at the Project Studio Handbook.
