ASIO Drivers w/ 001

Hello...
Normally, I use my 001 with PT LE as it's more stable, but I have some older projects recorded with Vision DSP. I like the Vision interface, but we all know about the damage that Gibson did to them. Anyway, the 001 and VDSP have always worked together using the Acadia audio system with ASIO drivers. However, recently when I try to boot VDSP, I get a message that says something to the effect of "Problem with ASIO drivers error -997. Cannot acquire playback system" and it wont let me select the Digidesign DirectIO driver that has always worked before. It prompts me to do so and I can hear the pop coming from the optical card on my DA7 when it switches, but it won't let me keep the change. It goes straight to Sound Manager. I tried replacing the driver with a backed up version but that didn't work. Has anyone encountered anything like this before or have any suggestions?
