When we started with PT I had a 450mhz G4/ PT 5.1.1 /OS 9 and was getting about 25-35 tracks along with AV/XL. I ended up having to do spotwork on the Fibre network and film work off a Firewire drive. Don't know if that is an option for you. 19 is pretty low, maybe the 2nd video card is also hurting you.

Going to a 1.25gig G4 and PT 6 got me alot more tracks, but I can't remember if we switched to HD systems at the same time. With HD/ PT 6.2.3 and 1.25Gig and Fibre I was maxing out the 144 voices/6 dsp setting without 6502 errors.

Do you know what Fibre card you have? Some are easier on the PCI bus than others.

As always, this DUC comes through... after further testing, dumping the session to a Firewire Drive eliminates the problem. Anyone out there know of another FC card that would put less stress on the PCI bus? Thanks for the help out there...

When we upgraded from 450s to 1.25Gigs I got Astera cards (J2000 I think). The idea was that the card would sense the PCI load and adjust to it. That's what I was told anyway. Because so many things changed at once, I'm not sure if it helped. They are sitting in boxes now. If you want to give it a try contact me.

Who sold you the fibre system, do they have any ideas?
