Omni mirrored outputs level drop
I'm using the option in Hardware Setup to mirror the TRS outputs from outputs 7-8. 7-8 go to a pair of meters and the TRS feed the inputs of a dual-channel analog EQ/compressor with its own meters.
With nothing plugged into the TRS outs, the level is 0dB (unity). When I connect something to the TRS outputs, the level for both the regular 7-8 outs and the TRS drop around -1dB. I sort of expected in 2012 for these to be buffered outputs. Can anybody confirm that the Omni's TRS outs do a simple mult from 7-8? Any way to avoid this? If I disconnect the 7-8 outs, I don't believe the level goes back to 0 on the EQ/compressor. Weird. I guess that's what you get for not buying enough discrete channels. |
