Default New hard drive

Hi

i can't record to my new harddrive


i have tried to change from T till R i Workspace i Pro tools
i have tried to reinstall Pro tools
i have trown away digidesign dtabases
i have partioned my harddrive 7200/ 8.9 m/s in NTFS and basic

Nothing works

i always get teh same message

"New Volume cannot be designated as an Audio Record volume because it is not a valid audio volume"


Please help me

What type??? & u did format it as NTFS??

it is formatted in NTFS

Reinstalling PT won't do u any good... R u right clicking, & formatting is the Quick format or regular...Not sure that'd matter but just tryin to get somewhere... I've seen the problem before in other threads but can't remember the solution & too most those problems were on Mac & not PC so thatz sorta weird to me

thank you for you reply i have tried both i still doesnt work, maybe i should try to thrash preferensces for DAE?

I have solved it,the problem was that the drive was partioned in GUID istead of MBR

this solved it

1. At a command prompt, type: diskpart, and then press ENTER.
2. At the diskpart prompt, type: list disk, and then press ENTER.
3. Record the disk number of the disk that you want to convert to an MBR disk.
4. At the diskpart prompt, type: select disk n, and then press ENTER.
5. At the diskpart prompt, type: convert mbr, and then press ENTER.
