Help with weird panning issue, please.
Good day,
I could use some help on a panning issue with PT LE. For some reason, PT is pushing (panning) my tracks to the right speaker. I can still hear them on the left speaker but quieter than they should be. On the screen, all the panning knobs look the way they should and all the panning automation looks good on screen but when I listen to it, it’s all pushed toward the right speaker. I’m not using any 'sends' or anything complex since this was my first PT tune I created. When the guy mastering my album saw the tune in his mastering software, it immediately was a red flag. On his screen, the right channel waveform looked good but the left was just a big red blob…no waveform. He said something was seriously messed up with the tune. Also, this is the only tune on my album that it’s happening on. Does anyone know what could have happened? Any advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks. |

Re: Help with weird panning issue, please.
Sounds like it may have happened during the recording phase.
What interface/outboard gear are you using. Have you checked everything is setup properly before recording? IOW, did this happen while monitoring during recording?

Re: Help with weird panning issue, please.
Thanks for your reply, zedhed.
My interface is a M Box 2 mini. I guess I dont know if I had everything set up properly before recording. I just did what the 'quick start' users guide said to do and started recording. I didnt notice the issue until most of the tune was recorded. This issue only happened on the first tune I did. So whatever I did wrong...I dont seem to be doing it anymore. :) I think I'm just going to duplicate some of the tracks and pan the dubes far to the left to balance things out. That just seems like the easiest solution. If anyone has any other ideas, please let me know. I appreciate it! Thanks! |
