Default Audio to monitors

To PT Users,

I have eight monitors connected via DB25 in's and out's of my MTRX Studio how would I check they are correctly phase aligned and routed to each pair.

Regards

Here is how I would do it:
Place any 2 speakers side by side, connect any pair of outputs, Feed pink noise or tone to both. Any phase issue should be immediately apparent. If that pair is good, repeat as needed until you are confident that all speakers and cables are correct(though I suspect you may be worrying about nothing)

A standard cable checker would be tough to use with a DB25 connection(but maybe someone builds an adapter for this purpose). A phase checker might also be used if you have access to one. Some audio analysis software measures for phase(I know SMARRT Live does, check on others such as SpectraFoo).

^^ the real way, with test tones. You never know if a cable or set of monitors was made or repaired badly.

In Pro Tools generate stereo pairs of sine and pink noise signals and have in and out of phase pairs. It's nice to "show" your ears a total out of phase signal pair when doing this. And if you do have a flipped connection they will sound perfectly in-phase.
