Has anyone actually taken delivery of a MTRX TB3 card?

I have the most current DADMan software and the most current firmware version along with the most current version of ProTool and the Dolby Atmos renderer. I am currently on OS 13.5

Have you installed the CoreAudio driver? It came via a QR code packaged with the thunderbolt card.

Hi MTRX Studio users,

I hope to take delivery next week of the MTRX TB3 Card for my MTRX Studio would a Thunderbolt to USB 3 cable be suitable.?

What cable are users using for this interface I use an Apple MacBook Pro M1 also an older Mac Pro computer (trash can).

You have to use a Thunderbolt 3 cable (or Thunderbolt 4). And it has to go into a thunderbolt port (not anything else). Your M1 has almost nothing but thunderbolt usb-c ports (usb-c is a shape!) so they will all work.

For the trashcan mac, you will need a thunderbolt 2 to thunderbolt 3 adapter Apple makes one) and connect between the mac and the adapter with a thunderbolt 2 cable. This may/may not work if the MTRX thunderbolt card requires thunderbolt 3 speeds.

What cable manufactures would you or others suggest as most Thunderbolt 3 or 4 cables are short under 2m would need 3 / 5 m cable options.

I received my TB3 card into my MTRX II 10 days ahead of my birthday gift!
I got it installed with no issues and am running a corning optical cable due to the length I needed to my rack and it works fantastic! Anything over 6.5ft is a problem for the communication between the TB3 card and the computer.

It's an amazing setup for the room here and still getting used to the fact that I dont' ever have to use the Dolby Audio Bridge anymore. Everything is all running through the the TB3 card now. That's just the start of it. The routing is endless as far as what I can do here. A welcome change and with the new DADTBDriver_CoreAudio Driver it's working perfect.
I'll post more when I have time, but just digging into some work now in ATMOS land!

2m is the standard limit for TB3 copper cables. Any one will do. Most of mine are CalDigit or Apple (had some OWC but they have weaker strain relief/insulation behind the connectors.) At 3m, Apple makes the only one by using higher gauge copper.
Over 3m is only Corning optical thunderbolt (and they go to 50m). No one else makes optical thunderbolt (they may own a patent.)

Once I got the card I went full on and decided to buy all Apple official thunderbolt cables. So M2 Ultra attached to MTRX2, Sonnet HDX chassis, Sonnet Mac Studio Chassis, Blackmagic Ultra Studio 4k and two OWC thunderbolt hubs and even though I have no proof that the cables are technically better than thunderbolt 3 cables or third party thunderbolt cables I've had zero issues. No iLok issues, no connection issues in any way with any peripheral. They're not cheap but it feels like everything, even with pretty large Atmos sessions, is running perfectly.
