003 or mackie xdr pres??????

ok all you well informed cowboys, i have my mics plugged in the mackie vlz 1604, and going direct outs to the oo3.
or should i just bypass the mackie and use the 003s pres, (AT LEAST), the 1 thru 4 inputs?, or just bypass the oo3s pres?
